Going Courtside with the Synergy Hair Netball League!

The 16th of May saw the opening game of the 2026 season of the Synergy Hair Netball League. The development league sees six teams from all over the country complete over five weeks to take out the top spot.

 

From Auckland to Southland, every team brings regional pride and fierce competition to the court! The Northern Marvels represent the wider Auckland region, while the Northern Comets call South Auckland home. Waikato Bay of Plenty Matarau unite the Waikato and Bay of Plenty, with Central Manawa representing the lower North Island.

 

Down south, Mainland champions Canterbury and the upper South Island, while Southern Blast flies the flag for Otago and Southland. After taking out the 2025 championship title, Mainland will have Christchurch fans buzzing to see if they can go back-to-back this season! Check out the 2025 Mainland Champions below.

The Synergy Hair Netball League is a vital development pathway for young sportswomen in partnership with Netball New Zealand. We believe that when young athletes are supported and empowered to reach their full potential, they can achieve remarkable success both on and off the court.

 

Through our “Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good” philosophy, we aim to build confidence, inspire ambition, and help shape a brighter future for sport in New Zealand and encouraging young women to chase their dreams with passion, determination, and self-belief.

 

And we love to help them feel game day ready with our slick back favourites to keep their hair in peak performance. Some of the players top contenders include the Muk Head Dry Shampoo 150g, Eleven Smooth Me Now Flyaway Hair Balm 30g, and Kerasilk Flyaway Wand 8ml.

 

The passion, energy, and competitive spirit these athletes bring is impossible to miss, whether you’re courtside or tuning into the live stream from home.

 

This year the games are being streamed on the Netball New Zealand YouTube Channel which makes it easy to get in on the action from the courtside and directly from the comfort of your couch.

  • 30/05 – Central Manawa V Mainland, Fly Palmy Arena Palmerston North, 5pm
  • 31/05 – Southern Blasts V Nothern Marvels, ILT Stadium, Invercargill, 2pm

 

Round 4:

  • 06/06 – Central Manawa V Waibop Matarau, Globox Arena Hamilton, 5pm
  • 07/06 – Mainland V Northerns Marvels, Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub Christchurch, 11:30am
  • 07/06 – Comets V Southern Blast, Pulman Arena Auckland, 1:30pm

 

Round 5:

  • 13/06 – Comets V Central Manawa, Pulman Arena Auckland, 2pm
  • 13/06 – Northern Marvels V Waibop Matarau, The Trusts Arena, Auckland, 5pm
  • 14/06 – Southern Blast V Mainland, ILT Stadium Southland Invercargill, 2pm

 

All of this will conclude in a grand final in early July where the grand champion will be crowned. So, now’s the time to get behind your local team, bring the noise and cheer on the Silver Ferns of tomorrow!
