Get the Look
On the day of the premiere, Robbie sat in hairstylist Bryce Scarlett’s chair to get red carpet glam. To achieve that perfect Barbie Blowdry, Scarlett goes in with the Redken Quick Blowout from roots to ends to minimise blow-dry time and add a layer of heat protection, followed by Redken Big Blowout to achieve maximum volume.
For that classic 1960’s Barbie Ponytail, Scarlett dries the hair in large sections and sets it with Velcro rollers. We would recommend using the Ghd Helios (our fav dryer), and their new Light Pink Peach colour is perfect for Barbie season. Once the hair has cooled, remove the rollers and smooth back the ponytail, leaving out two inches of the hairline.
Go in with a curling iron and set the entire ponytail into two-inch curls, as well as the hairline area left out of the ponytail. Once cooled, carefully brush out the curls while shaping the bang area for a polished, yet full finish. Scarlett sets the entire look using the Redken Max Hold Hairspray for that flexible hold that shines. You’re going to need a lot of hairspray for that front section!

1960’s Enchanted Evening Barbie
For the European premiere of the most anticipated movie of the year, Robbie channelled a 1960s “Enchanted Evening Barbie” in both her outfit and her hairstyle. The original plastic version featured a high ponytail, whereas her modern take on it ditched the high pony, and swapped it for a messy updo with volume at the front.

Next, bobby pins are going to become your new best friend, and you’ll need to gently tease the inner layer of your hair to create that volume and shape. We recommend using a teasing brush to avoid that birds nest look!
