How long does temporary colour last?
Temporary colours are designed to wash out gradually. Depending on the product, they can last from 1 to around 10 washes. Sprays and mousses usually rinse out after one shampoo, while colour masks or CC creams may last longer.
Do I need to mix temporary colour with a developer?
No developer needed! Temporary colour products are ready to use straight from the tube, tub, or bottle—no mixing required.
Can temporary colour cover greys?
Temporary colour won’t fully cover greys, but it can help blend and soften them. Colour-depositing masks and tinted sprays are especially good for this.
Will it work on dark hair?
Some shades, especially pastels, may not show up well on darker hair. But richer colours (eg. deep reds, blues, or purples) can still add a tint or tone, especially in bright light.
Is temporary colour damaging?
Temporary colour sits on the surface of the hair and doesn’t alter its structure, so it’s generally gentle and non-damaging. It’s the perfect way to experiment without commitment.
Can I use it on coloured or bleached hair?
Yes! Temporary colour can refresh faded tones, add vibrancy, or give you a new shade to play with. Just note that porous hair (like bleached hair) may grab more pigment and hold onto the colour a bit longer.
