October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on this important cause, and our local communities have been doing some extraordinary work for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Let’s dive into some of the heartwarming Pink Ribbon events we’ve had the privilege to be a part of:
Leanne’s Pink Ribbon Breakfast
Leanne’s journey is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Facing a breast cancer diagnosis while 31 weeks pregnant is a challenge most can’t fathom. But Leanne, a true fighter, decided to turn her battle into a force for good. Over the past two years, she’s raised over $20,000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation! Synergy Hair joined in, donating a fabulous gift pack for her recent breakfast event, which raised an incredible $5,000!
Heather & Sonya’s Pink Ribbon Events
Heather and Sonya, the dynamic duo with hearts of gold, have been tirelessly supporting Breast Cancer NZ for an impressive 11 years. Together, they’ve raised close to $60,000! We’ve been honoured to contribute raffle items to their Pink Ribbon events over the past two years. These ladies are nothing short of extraordinary, and their achievements deserve all the applause!
Alana’s Pink Ribbon Lunch
Alana knows how to throw a Pink Ribbon Breakfast like no other. Bubbles on entry, inspiring speakers, raffles, and fabulous goodie bags – it’s a Whitianga event that’s not to be missed. We happily chipped in, donating a gift pack for her raffle and over 100 gift vouchers for her goodie bags. And boy, did she exceed expectations, raising an impressive $10,550!
Margaret’s Pink Ribbon Luncheons
Margaret’s Pink Ribbon Luncheons in Orewa are a testament to the power of community coming together. ‘Paint Orewa Pink’ not only raises awareness but also vital funds for breast cancer research. We’ve proudly supported two of Margaret’s events, because every little bit helps in this crucial fight.
Holly’s Pink Ribbon Raffle
And then there’s Holly, determined to ‘kick the C word in the butt’. Her close friend Geneva was in the throes of a tough battle with Breast Cancer, with less than a year left to live. Holly rallied her workplace for a raffle, which Synergy Hair was happy to support with a fantastic donation of hair care. The result? A smashing success, raising $1,467!
